Fall Specialty Program for 18-36 Month Olds

Signing Safari

Research has conclusively proven that once hearing toddlers are taught to sign their brains actually become more developed! Benefits include preverbal communication, earlier speech development, larger vocabularies, enhanced intellectual development, and less frustration (less crying, fewer tantrums!). During these classes, taught in collaboration with Signing Safari child sign language specialists, participants will use singing, signing, playing, and rhyming to learn the signs for different parts of nature. We will even see some animals in the classroom that will help us practice the signs we are learning! (no charge for up to two accompanying adults). Limit 10 participants per session.

Winter Specialty Program for 18-36 Month Olds

Singing Safari

When it’s cold and dreary outside, kids do not always get the chance to jump and dance and sing! The Zoo would like to change that! In collaboration with Miss Amanda’s Music Garden, certified early childhood music specialist, Amanda O’Bannon, will teach you and your toddler how to move and sing like the plants and animals. Zoo educators will also be on hand to bring some special animal visitors to visit the classroom!
