These programs are designed to meet the needs of 4-5 year olds as they continue to discover the excitement and wonder of animals. Visits from animal friends, hikes in the Zoo, and crafts make this learning experience a time to remember.

Who can participate?

  • Children 4-5 years old.
  • Adults are always welcome but need not accompany the child. (No Charge for adults.)

How much are 4-5 year old programs?

  • Sign up for individual classes, or for the entire series and save!
  • Cost per Class: $11/ Member - $15/ Non-Member
  • Cost per Series: $27/ Member - $39/ Non-Member

Where do 4-5 year old programs take place?

  • Most occur in the Harold C. Schott Education Center. Confirmation materials will be received once you have registered.

KNOW NOSES

Noses can be used for a lot more than just breathing and smelling. Find out about the many different noses, snouts, and trunks that belong to some of our Zoo animals. We'll meet some animals with different noses close up and make a craft to take home. Register Online

LEAFY ANIMALS

It's the perfect time of year to look at leaves - some animals eat them, some animals use them to make a home, and some animals even look like them! We'll take a walk in the zoo to learn more about these leafy animals and even gather some leaves to make a craft. Register Online

HOME, SWEET HOME

There's no place like home and we'll discover why! From the tallest tree to an underground burrow, animals have some very odd homes. We'll meet some animals and use clues to learn about where they live. Register Online

For 4-7 Year Olds Mini Holiday Camp

TROPICAL HOLIDAY VACATION Looking for something to do during a day off school? How about an adventure at the Zoo? This four-hour program is designed to be an engaging and interactive experience for your child as they take a tropical vacation and learn about animals that call the tropical rainforest home. We will explore the Zoo for tropical animals, read stories, play games, meet some animal ambassadors, and make crafts for an enjoyable way to spend a day off from school! Please pack a lunch (snack provided). Register Online

THE EYES HAVE IT

Discover what it’s like to see eye to eye with animals. With a hike and activities, we’ll find out why eyes come in different shapes and sizes and even get a chance to see some eyes up close when we meet some animals in the classroom. Register Online

P IS PENGUIN What’s black and white and fun all over? A penguin! Dive in for an exciting look at penguins as we discover that not all penguins like the cold! After a hike to see our penguins and some fun games, we’ll make a “penguin-y” craft that you can take home. Register Online

Zoo Yoga

ZOO YOGA Roar like a tiger. Fly like a bird. Move as slowly as a sloth. Explore the world of animals and plants in a fun new way - through yoga! This fun and interactive program is a beginner/ mid-level class for you child and can serve as a great foundation for developing an interest in wildlife and fitness that can last a lifetime. Parents are welcome to participate with their children. Afterward, explore the Zoo on your own or together with others from the class. Yoga mats are provided. Please bring a bottle of water and wear comfortable clothing. Register Online
