Register for Zoo Summer Camp and act wild for wildlife and places! Full-Day camp from 9am-4pm and Half-Day Camp from 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm week-long camps available now for 4-14 year olds. Before and After Care is also available.

Please note for group registrations all participants must register together.

4-5 year Olds- “Where in the World is…..”

All abroad! Summer campers will take a journey, via the train, tram and a spin on the carousel from the North to South Pole and they will encounter every habitat in between! Without leaving the safe confines of the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. Along the way the campers will experience, creature features, visit animals from every continent, and become world travelers in the process. While visiting “Africa” your camper will be able to feed the giraffes, then a quick journey across the Indian Ocean and campers will have a chance to feed the lorikeets from Australia. Each day will be punctuated with interactive games, camp songs, and Zoo explorations.

6-7 year Olds- “Extreme Animals”

Are you extreme enough?? Animals are out of this world, equipped with outrageous abilities like being able to dive a MILE deep into the ocean! From polar bears to plants! Join campers as they meet these extreme animals and discover why they must act the way they do. Your camper will explore the animal and plant kingdoms at their extremities and meet in the middle for cool science experiments and up close creature features. Each day will be jam packed with Zoo games, keeper encounters and hands on animal experiences. Campers will enter the extreme 4-D Special FX Theater, and experience a zoo new movie. Plus, campers will feed the lorikeets and giraffes and be able to tour the Zoo on the train or tram and take a few rounds on the carousel.

8-11 year Olds- “Monkeying Around”

Have you ever wondered what monkeys, giraffes, apes or cats do all day along? Come to summer camp to find out! Campers will have a chance to create ANIMAL ENRICHMENT items for some of the Zoo’s animals. All animals need enrichment items, and your camper will get a chance to become part of the “Zoo Team.” By creating and designing items to enrich the animals lives here at the Zoo. Once campers create their enrichment toys, they will be able to see what behaviors the animals to with their creation. All campers will have a chance to view a new movie at the 4-D Special FX Theater. They will also be able to enrich the lorikeets lives by feeding them and the giraffes one time throughout the week.

12-14 Year Olds- “Zoo Careers”

Running a zoo involves a lot more than meets the eye. Join us for a week of exploring the many jobs involved in taking care of the Zoo’s animals and creating a great experience for Zoo visitors. You’ll get a chance to get down and dirty and creative with hands-on activities, animal demonstrations, & behind-the-scenes tours. We’ll also round out the experience with some guest speakers who will give you a better understanding of the variety of zoo careers that are here at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.

4-5 year olds- Shake, Rattle and Roll

Does your preschooler like to jump, hop, swing, or climb? Bring your little mover and shaker to meet some of our Zoo’s movers and shakers! We’ll take a look at feet, fins, flippers, and wings and see how animals move around. Each day, we’ll explore the world of locomotion with hikes in the Zoo, crafts, games, and close encounters with some live “movers”. Whether it’s by land, sea or air, you’ll little one will enjoy this fast-paced summer Zoo adventure!

4-5 year Olds- Fur, Feathers and Scales

Campers will discover animals and their world using all their senses! Animals are covered in all sorts of different things from fur to feathers. Their coverings help them slither, hide and hover. Campers will fly, flutter, slither and move throughout the zoo under the feathery wing of one of our Zooper instructors during this exciting animal adventure. Campers will experience animals up close, sing songs and have story time.

6-7 year olds- Feast for the Beasts

Termites, durian fruits, and elephant dung are just a few of the unusual tasty “treats” that animals like to eat! In the Zoo’s unique learning environment, your child will enjoy discovering the world of herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and scavengers and where each animal fits into the food chain. This fun-filled week will include hikes in the Zoo, games, crafts, and encounters with live animals, as we find out what (or who) is for dinner!

6-7 year Olds -Jungle Journey

Come on a tropical safari with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden! This summer camp will explore the tropical rainforest where we will meet every animal under the canopy! From singing gibbons to hooting gorillas, campers will take a jungle tour led by their expert guides. Join us on a trip around this awesome biome. Where campers will travel by train, tram and discover the hidden jewels of the tropical rainforest. Each stop will include close encounters with rhinos, lemurs, bonobos and much more! Campers will be able to “get their hands” on many of the animals we encounter!

8-11 year olds- Animal Myth Busters

Everyone knows that bats don’t get caught in people’s hair. But what about snakes – can they really outrun a person? And what about cockroaches – can they really lose their head and survive…for a week? Join us as we separate fact from fiction in the world of animal lore. We’ll use the Zoo exhibits, live animal encounters, and hands-on activities to uncover the truth behind the stories and lore that surround the world of animals.

8-11 year olds- You are What you EAT!

From Mangoes to Marshmallows, you sort of are what you EAT! Join us, during this week long adventure, to see what our animals here at the zoo enjoy for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Campers will have a chance to look behind the scenes and encounter animals and their excrement at every turn. Summer campers will also be able to feed some of our amazing animals. In between feedings, campers will hitch a ride on the train and tram.

12-14 year olds - Saving Wildlife and Wild Places

What is the Zoo doing to protect wild animals and plants and the habitats that they need to survive? What does H.I.P.P.O. stand for and why should you care? After 5 days of visiting exhibits, spending time with Zoo staff, and meeting some animal ambassadors, you will discover the answers to these questions as well as while encounter some of the challenges zoos and wildlife face every day.

Before and After Care

For your convenience, Before- and After-Care options are now available during the weeks when Full-Day Summer Camps are offered. Before-Care is offered from 8-9 am and After-Care is offered from 4-6 pm. The cost is $25 per hour, per week of class. Space is limited, so reserve your spot at the time of registration.
