Wild Scout Adventures at the Zoo!

The Zoo offers the thrill of a wildlife adventure in a safe and educational atmosphere. All Zoo education programs encourage enthusiasm for learning about nature by engaging participants in a hands-on exploration of the world around them. The Zoo comes alive through games, hikes, scavenger hunts, animal demonstrations and tours. Program participants will develop an appreciation for nature as well as the environment.

Scout Pick-A-Badge Programs

Pick-A-Badge scout programs provide scout troops with an in-Zoo adventure that meets all the needs of a scouting badge/ achievement.

Choose from the following badge programs:

• Brownies: Animal Try-It and Eco-Explorer Try-It
• Jr. Girls Scouts: Wildlife Badge
• Cadette/ Senior Girl Scouts: Wildlife Interest Project
• Bear Cubs: Sharing Your World with Wildlife
• Webelos: Naturalist Badge
• American Heritage Girls: Nature and Wildlife Badge

Scout Overnights at the Zoo

Experience the Wildest Nightlife in Town! Nocturnal Adventures programs are designed to provide an after- hours experience at the Zoo. Participants will investigate how animals survive in their habitats, explore the diversity of life on this amazing planet, and work to understand our role in protecting endangered species and places. Your scout group can also earn partial badge requirements in each overnight adventure.
